Hospice Care of
Southwest Michigan understands our employees are the key to our

designed to help protect the health and well being of our employees
and their families.
Summary of Benefits
Listed below is a
summary of the different benefit programs offered to Hospice Care of
Southwest Michigan full time employees. All of the Agency’s insurance
benefits are effective 30 days from the date of hire.
Health & Prescription Medications
A comprehensive PPO
plan is offered to employees and their dependents. Prescription
coverage is included with a mail order option available.
Dental
Preventative, Basic,
Major and Orthodontia services are eligible for coverage. Employee
coverage is provided at no cost.
Short and Long Term Disability
Disability coverage,
which provides income replacement in the event of a disability, is
available at no cost to employees.
Life Insurance
Group life insurance
(which includes Accidental Death & Dismemberment) is provided at no
cost for employees and their dependents. Employees may purchase
supplemental life insurance for themselves if they so choose.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
A generous PTO program
is offered. PTO
can be used for vacation, sick and personal time. In addition to PTO,
employees are given time off for bereavement and jury duty.
Holiday
Six and half (6 ˝)
paid holidays are observed each year.
Retirement
Employees have the
opportunity to enroll in a 403b retirement savings account. Employees are
eligible for Agency matches after one year of service (certain hour
requirements apply).
Flexible Spending Accounts
Employees may elect to
participate in one or both accounts in which pre-tax dollars can be
used to pay for out of pocket medical or dependent expenses.
Personal Staff Development
The purpose of this
program is to enhance the quality of care by helping staff achieve
wellness, knowledge and further develop organizational skills.
Employees may be reimbursed for programs, classes, services and
materials which aid in their personal development.
